Lightning: a red-and-gold festival slot with Grand to Mini tiers

The ACE333 Lightning screens show a 50-line festival slot with four prize tiers, not the cascading grid the old page described. Here is what is actually there.

Lightning on ACE333 is a Chinese festival slot with a four-tier prize bar. That is worth saying up front, because the old version of this page described a cascading 7x7 grid with no reels. None of the screenshots show anything like that. What they show is a close cousin of Happy Lantern, captured on a PC through an Android emulator.

What's on the reels

The tall symbol is an official in a red dragon-patterned robe holding a scroll. In the hero screenshot he fills reels 2 and 4 from top to bottom. The other pictures are a green turtle, a bundle of red firecrackers, a red envelope with the double-happiness character and gold coins, a golden lucky cat with a pearl, and a smaller head-and-shoulders portrait of the official in a jewelled headdress. Card symbols 9, 10, J, Q and K fill the gaps.

Gold lanterns also turn up. One in the capture below reads MINOR JACKPOT, and another shows 150.

The prize bar

Four boxes run across the top: GRAND JACKPOT at 1,000,000, MAJOR JACKPOT at 450,868, MINOR BONUS at 5000 and MINI BONUS at 1000. Grand and Major both carry a small padlock. The Grand figure is a round million and does not move between captures. Nothing on screen explains how the tiers are won.

The bet panel

The bottom panel reads CURRENT BALANCE, TOTAL BET with minus and plus, TOTAL WIN, MAX BET and SPIN ("hold for autospin"). "50 LINES" tabs sit on both sides of the reels. The total bet is 50 in every capture, and the balance moves from 10,985 down to 9,410 across the set, which shows how quickly a 50-credit spin adds up.

After a win, the bottom-left text gives the line result, "Game Over - Play Now" shows in the middle, and a spade-shaped GAMBLE button appears.

Questions from the field

Is Lightning a cascading-grid game?

Not in these screenshots. The old page described a 7x7 grid with falling symbols, but every capture shows five reels with lanterns and a four-tier prize bar.

How is it different from Happy Lantern?

The two look almost the same. The prize bar values differ (Grand 1,000,000 here) and the captures come from an Android emulator. We can't tell from the screens whether they are separate games or two listings of one.
