Silver Bullet is a small, old-fashioned slot: five reels on cream panels, nine lines and a paytable that fits on one screen. There are no free spins or bonus rounds in what we captured, just a wild, a scatter and line wins. It is a good game for learning how a slot's lines and paytable fit together.

The nine lines

The hero screenshot shows all nine paylines drawn at once in different colours, with coloured number tabs (4, 6, 2, 8, 1, 9, 3, 7, 5) down both sides. Line 1 runs straight across the middle, lines 2 and 3 along the top and bottom, and the rest zigzag.

Symbols

The reels mix western props: banknotes, cowboy hats, horseshoes, wagon wheels, pipes, whisky bottles, lucky 7s, bombs, horse heads and wooden barrels. A sheriff's star and a revolver are the special symbols.

The paytable

The paytable reads left to right from the lowest to the highest symbol. For five of a kind: horse and banknotes 100, horseshoe, pipe and wagon wheel 150, hat, bottle and 7 at 200, bomb 500 and the barrel 10000. The barrel also pays for as few as one or two, and the bottle, 7 and bomb for two.

  • Scatter: the revolver pays 100 for five, 10 for four, 5 for three and 1 for two.
  • Wild: the sheriff star "is wild", substitutes for all symbols and doubles all wins it is part of.

All numbers are multiples of your bet. No return figure is shown on screen, so we won't quote one.

LINES is 9 and PLAY is 0.01 GP per line in every capture, so TOTAL PLAY is 0.09 GP. WIN shows the last result and SPIN starts auto spin when held. The MAJOR, RANDOM and MINOR boxes at the top change between captures; how they pay is not shown.
