Paris of the East: neon, jazz singers and vintage cars in old Shanghai
Live22's old-Shanghai slot, set outside a neon dance hall. What the reels, lines and win screen show, and why we show only one screenshot.
Shanghai was called the Paris of the East in the 1920s and 30s, and this Live22 slot borrows the look of its nightlife. The reels sit between two walls of neon: a red, glowing doorway with Chinese signage on the left and an art deco dance-hall front on the right.
The symbols
The main symbols are photo-style portraits in the fashion of the period: a smiling singer with a red flower in her hair and an old microphone, a woman in a red qipao, a young man in a black fedora, and a bald man in round dark glasses smoking a pipe. Because they are photographs of real people, we show only the one screenshot where they are hidden behind the win animation.
The other symbols are a vintage black car in front of a lit-up waterfront, the gold "Paris of the East" logo, and a Scatter showing fireworks over a tall building. The low symbols are card letters, A, K, Q, J and 10, each decorated with something from the theme: a hand fan on the Q, a microphone on the J, a hat on the K.
Lines and wins
The reels are five wide and three high. The win messages in the captures include "Line 25 Wins 4" and "Line 7 Wins 4", both at a total bet of 30, so the game has at least 25 lines. Win lines are drawn in bright blue neon over the reels.
The screenshot at the top shows the Big Win screen: gold lettering, a win of 310 in a red lit panel, a green COLLECT button and gold coins pouring down. It is just an animation for a bigger win; tapping COLLECT moves it into the balance.
The bet panel
The panel has a neon-blue frame to match the theme: TOTAL BET with arrows (150 in one screenshot, 30 in the others), MAX BET, a WIN box, AUTO SPIN, FAST and SPIN. Under the reels, the message "MAX BET FOR HIGHER WINNINGS." appears before a spin; that is the game's own prompt, not a reason to bet more. The corner badge here reads LUXURY MILLS rather than a city name.
What we could not see
No free-spin round, paytable or jackpot game shows up in these screenshots, and we won't guess at them. The old page gave payouts for each character; we couldn't verify them.
