Xi You Ji: a Journey to the West slot in the SBOBET frame

Xi You Ji is the pinyin title of Journey to the West, the Chinese novel about the monk Tang Sanzang and his three disciples. The slot borrows the cast rather than the plot: a monkey-king warrior, a blue-skinned monk with prayer beads and a staff, and a young woman holding a sprig of leaves appear as full-height portrait symbols.

The reels and the jackpot boxes

The grid is five reels by three rows on a cream background, framed by two golden dragons and a string of red lanterns on the left. The regular symbols are coloured J, Q, K, A and 10 in a chunky font, plus a folding fan and a rolled scroll.

Above the reels are five boxes: MINI, MAJOR, GRAND, MAXI and MINOR. At a bet of Rp 12.50 they read 625, 6,250, 12,500, 8,750 and 2,500. At Rp 1.25 every figure is one tenth of that. So the boxes are tied to your stake, not to a pool that other players feed.

When a line wins, a red scroll banner drops over the reels with the amount. Here it shows 1.00 on a bet of 1.25, which means the spin still lost money overall.

The intro and help screens

The game opens on a ten-page intro. The first page is titled "Sacred journey" over a faded picture of the reels, with a big PLAY button and arrows to flip through the rest.

The Help window has a table of contents: Game Overview, Game Features, Bonus Features, Playing the Game, Game Controls, Autobet / Autoplay, Mobile Settings Menu and two Reality Check entries. Read the Bonus Features part before playing, because our screens don't show the bonus itself.
