Empress Regnant on KingKong: an imperial court slot that pays both ways
A 10-line imperial court slot that pays in both directions. How the empress wild respin works and what the paytable lists.
Empress Regnant takes its look from the Tang dynasty court: pink walls, a red carpet, a tall brick pagoda in the background and a title in pink and silver script. It is one of the Gaming World slots on KingKong Casino, with five reels, three rows and ten lines.
What's on the reels
The picture above shows most of the symbols, with the empress stacked three high on reel 4. The empress, in a gold headdress with red tassels, is the wild. The others are an old round coin with a square hole, a gold seated Buddha statue, a gold ring set with a blue stone and a dragon head, a green jade incense burner and a brick pagoda. Card letters from A down to 10 make up the low end.
A badge in the top right corner reads "2 WAY PAY", with arrows pointing both ways.
This capture shows the special feature. The empress has landed as one tall figure covering the whole of reel 4, and the word RESPIN is splashed across the reels. The paytable explains it: the wild substitutes for everything except scatters, and when it covers an entire reel it triggers a respin. It appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only.
The paytable
At a total bet of 0.25, five coins pay 20.00 and five rings 10.00. The statue and the incense burner pay 1.50 for five. A pays 1.00, K 0.75, and Q, J and 10 pay 0.50 for five. The pagoda is the scatter. Two pay 0.50 and it triggers free spins, but it only appears on reels 1 and 5. The page does not say how many free spins you get.
A small win: two Js and the empress on the middle row pay 0.15.
Bet panel
The same Gaming World strip as the rest of the family: TOTAL BET with minus and plus, BALANCE, WIN, a green spin button, AUTOPLAY and PAYTABLE. In the first capture the message bar reads "Betting 0.01 on each of the 10 lines", yet the TOTAL BET box shows 0.25. The screens do not explain the gap, so go by the TOTAL BET figure, which matches the balance falling in steps of 0.25 across the captures (97.25, 96.75, 96.50).

A badge on the screen says 2 Way Pay, which usually means lines can pay from left to right and from right to left. The paytable page we have does not spell it out.
When does the respin happen?
The paytable says the empress wild triggers a respin feature when it covers an entire reel. It only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4.
