The Great Ming Empire: junk ships, gates and a Ming court on LPE88

The Great Ming Empire dresses a plain five-reel slot in the colours of the Ming court. The reels sit inside a red-and-gold building frame with a tiled temple roof across the top, the Chinese title and the English name "The Great Ming Empire" in the middle, and snowy mountains and pagodas at the sides.

The symbols

Most of the grid is taken up by chunky gold letters, A, K, Q and J, on a pale patterned background. The picture symbols are where the theme lives:

• a court lady in a green panel, with flowers in her hair
• a Ming official in a dark hat and yellow robe
• a palace gate with a red carpet leading up the steps
• a junk ship with golden sails
• a blue-and-white porcelain vase and a blue pearl gripped by a bronze dragon
• a rolled scroll, also held by a dragon

In the capture above, two court ladies land on the first two reels, and palace gates show up on reels one and four. The bottom bar reads "Touch the reels to stop early", which means you can tap the screen to end the spin sooner.

A small win

Here line 1 runs through the middle row. The scroll, the official and two junk ships are highlighted, a small tag shows RM0.03, and the WIN box at the bottom repeats it. Balance moves from RM31.50 to RM31.52 over the session, which is about what you expect at one line and one sen a spin.

The bet bar

The bottom strip shows YOUR BALANCE, LINES, LINE BET and TOTAL BET, all in ringgit. In every capture the lines are set to 1 and the line bet to RM0.01. The big round button on the right is marked "Hold for Autoplay": tap it once to spin, hold it to start automatic spins. You can also swipe the reels. The arrow tab on the left edge opens the bet settings.

What we could not see
