Legacy of the Wild: a portrait-mode slot with a Wave-o-Meter

Legacy of the Wild is one of the few LPE88 slots in our set that you hold upright. The logo sits at the top, the reels are a five-wide, four-high block of tiles, and the lower half of the screen is a dim study: a wooden desk, a stack of books, a melted candle and a window at night.

The intro screen

The first screen explains the three ideas the game is built on:

• Collapsing Reels. Winning symbols explode and a new wave of symbols drops into the gaps.
• Wave-o-Meter. A column of glowing orbs down the left side, marked 8, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 50. The text says five or more consecutive Wave wins trigger free games.
• Book of Wilds. Wild symbols spread to more adjacent positions with every wave, shown as a cross of parchment WILD tiles.

A "Do not show this again" tick box sits under the START button.

The symbols

The high symbols are character portraits: a girl in a red hood, a boy in purple holding a potion, a white-bearded wizard in an orange hat, a green orc and a blue-hooded figure. The low symbols are dark stone tiles set with glowing runes in red, green, blue and purple.

A win and a wave

When a line pays, the grid dims and the amount appears across it in large gold numbers, here RM0.08. The symbols that won then burst and new ones fall in, which is the collapse the intro describes. The orbs on the left start to light up as the waves chain.

Bet bar and buttons

The bottom of the screen shows LINES 40, LINE BET RM0.01 and TOTAL BET RM0.40, with YOUR BALANCE underneath. A coin-stack button on the left opens the bet settings, the big round button in the middle is "Hold for Autoplay", and a small switch on the right is labelled TURBO. At RM0.40 a spin this costs forty times what the one-line slots on LPE88 were set to in our captures, so check the total before you start.

What we could not see

There is no free-games round and no paytable in these captures, so the size of the free-game award and the character payouts are unknown to us.
