Casino War: the simplest card table on Mega888

Casino War is about as simple as a card game gets. You and the dealer get one card each, and the higher card wins. Mega888 runs it on the same blue single-player table as its Baccarat and Blackjack, with no dealer shown.
The table
The felt carries the title CASINO WAR over a crossed-swords shield, and underneath: "TIE BETS PAY 10 TO 1". There are five betting circles, a card shoe on the left and a discard tray on the right. The board in the top left shows MIN 0.5 and MAX 1000.
Along the bottom are the chips, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000, with the CURRENT BALANCE box in the lower left (50.04 in the hero screenshot) and a slider with a plus button on the right.
A round
After you put down a chip and deal, one card lands in your circle and one at the top of the table for the dealer. In this screenshot the player's 6 of spades meets the dealer's ace of clubs. Aces are high in Casino War, so the hand is lost: the circle is empty and the balance has dropped from 50.04 to 49.54, the 0.5 stake.
In a later round the player's king of hearts beats the dealer's 2 of clubs. Chips of 2 and 4 are shown in the circle, "YOU WIN : 4" appears at the bottom and a red New Game button resets the table. The balance reads 46.54.
Ties and going to war
The screenshots do not include a tie, so we cannot show what the screen offers then. In the standard game a tie gives you two options: surrender and take back half your stake, or go to war by placing a second bet equal to the first and drawing again.
The separate tie bet at 10 to 1 looks generous, but ties are rare, and that is why it pays so much. Many players leave it alone.

What happens on a tie?
In standard Casino War you choose to surrender half your stake or go to war with a second, matching bet. Our screenshots do not show a tie, so we cannot show how Mega888 presents that choice.
Is the tie bet a good idea?
It pays 10 to 1, but a tie comes up far less often than one time in eleven, so it costs more over time than the main bet.
