Tres Amigos: chillies, cactus and a two-coin paytable

Tres Amigos is about as simple as a slot gets on NTC33. Three reels, a single red payline across the middle, and the entire paytable printed in the top right corner so you can see every prize before you spin. The theme is a cartoon Mexican fiesta: three moustached men in big sombreros make up the logo, and the reels are full of chillies, cacti and guitars.

Reading the paytable

The paytable has a picture column in the middle and two number columns either side, marked 1 and 2 in green diamonds. Those are coin counts. Reading from the top, the combinations are:

• Three Amigos: 1200 at one coin, 2500 at two
• A plate of food (it looks like a taco or enchilada dish): 500 / 1000
• Three cacti: 200 / 400
• Three chillies: 100 / 200
• Three maracas: 75 / 150
• Three cocktail glasses: 50 / 100
• Three guitars: 25 / 50
• Two chillies: 5 / 10
• One chilli: 2 / 4

The top line is the only one where the two-coin figure is more than double. On every other line two coins pay exactly twice one coin. So betting two coins only changes the maths if you care about the top prize.

The controls

Under the reels are just five controls. A minus and plus pair either side of the coin value (RM0.01 in every capture), then BET ONE, SPIN and BET MAX. Bet One adds a coin; Bet Max sets two coins and spins. The Bet box on the left read RM0.02 in our screenshots, so two coins, and the Win box on the right stayed at RM0.

A single chilli anywhere on the line pays something, which is why small wins come fairly often. The large figures at the top of the table need three matching symbols on one line, and on three reels with this many symbol types that is not common.

The third screenshot shows the NTC33 menu pulled down over the game, with a row of other slot icons and arrows to scroll through them. That is how you switch games without going back to the lobby.
